Shopify has updated Translate & Adapt for merchants in the United States and Canada. Auto-sync can now be enabled for published languages.
Weekly automatic translations for published languages
When Auto-sync is enabled, Shopify automatically translates new and updated store content each week. Translations written manually are not overwritten.
Auto-sync is off by default. To enable it, select a language in Translate & Adapt and turn on the Auto-sync toggle. You can switch it on or off for each language at any time.
Translation support expands to 8 languages
The number of languages Shopify can translate has increased from 2 to 8. Using Auto-sync, Translate now, or both for a language uses one of the 8 language slots.
The former Auto-translate button is now called Translate now, for translating content immediately rather than waiting for the next sync.
Auto-sync updates translations for published languages each week, while Translate now is available when you want an immediate translation.
