Shopify Translate & Adapt: Auto-sync translations for up to 8 languages

Roipas Editorial Team

Shopify Translate & Adapt now offers automatic translation syncing for published languages and translation support for up to 8 languages for merchants in the covered European countries.

Shopify has added Auto-sync to the Translate & Adapt app. The feature automatically translates new and updated store content into published languages for merchants in the specified European countries.

New and updated content is translated weekly

Auto-sync translates new and updated content in an enabled language every week. The feature is off by default; merchants can enable it by selecting a language in Translate & Adapt and turning on Auto-sync.

Auto-sync can be switched on or off separately for each language. Translations written manually by merchants are never overwritten.

The translation limit has increased to 8 languages

Shopify has increased the number of languages it can translate from 2 to 8. Each language using Auto-sync or Translate now counts toward one of the 8 language slots.

The button previously called Auto-translate is now named Translate now. It can be used to translate content immediately instead of waiting for the next sync.

Where is the feature available?

The update covers merchants in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Auto-sync is optional for published languages in Shopify Translate & Adapt, while Translate now can be used to start a translation immediately.
