Shopify POS makes it easier to identify in-store customers
Shopify POS links eligible customers’ purchases to their profiles when they choose a digital receipt.
A new Shopify POS feature helps connect purchases by eligible in-store shoppers to customer profiles, without staff needing to ask for contact details at checkout.
Customer profiles linked through digital receipts
Eligible shoppers who have previously checked out at a store using Shopify Payments can choose to receive a digital receipt through the Shop app, by email, or by text. The purchase is then connected to a customer profile and saved to the customer list.
Shoppers can choose a digital receipt and share their details in one tap. Marketing communications require the customer to have opted in.
Availability requirements
The feature is available in Shopify POS app version 11.17 or later, with Shopify Payments for POS and Shopify Network Intelligence enabled in admin settings.
If the store uses a buyer-facing display, Customer View must also be running version 11.17 or later.
This Shopify POS update makes it easier to add eligible in-store shoppers’ purchases to the customer list.
